Bengaluru, December 28, 2024 – The much-anticipated Yellow Line of the Namma Metro, connecting RV Road to Bommasandra, is set to commence operations on January 15, 2025. This new metro line, spanning 19.15 kilometers, promises to significantly enhance connectivity in the southern parts of Bengaluru, benefiting thousands of commuters.
The Yellow Line will feature 16 stations, including key stops at Jayadeva Hospital, BTM Layout, Silk Board Junction, and Electronics City. One of the highlights of this project is the Jayadeva Hospital station, which will be the tallest metro station in India at 39 meters, offering seamless transitions for commuters.
The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has announced that the initial launch will include three driverless trains operating at 30-minute intervals. These modern trains are equipped with state-of-the-art signaling, traction, and braking systems, ensuring a safe and efficient commute.
Despite facing delays due to the late delivery of train sets, BMRCL remains optimistic about the timely launch. The first train set from Titagarh Rail Systems is expected to arrive by early January 2025, with additional trains to follow in the coming months.
The Yellow Line is expected to transform city commuting by easing traffic congestion and providing a reliable public transportation option for residents and tech professionals in the Electronic City area. The project, costing approximately ₹5,745 crore, is a significant step towards improving urban mobility in Bengaluru.
As the city gears up for this major infrastructure upgrade, commuters eagerly await the launch of the Yellow Line, which promises to make their daily travel more convenient and efficient.
