Bhopal, November 5, 2020:The Vishwarang International Festival 2020, which aims to celebrate the culture, art and literature heritage of over 15 countries, will be held from 6th to 8th November. The event is being organized as a precursor to the 2nd edition of the Tagore International Literature & Arts Festival, also known as ‘Vishwarang’, which will be held from 20th to 29th November as a unique literature, arts and music festival in India that focuses on art and literature not only in English but in Hindi and regional languages as well.
Vishwarang International Festival will be held online and it will witness participation from countries like the USA, Australia, Canada, Netherlands, Singapore, Russia, Uzbekistan, Sri Lanka, Fiji, Ukraine, Sweden, Kazakhstan, UAE and the UK. The magnificent festival will witness the participation of more than 100 artists and 1 lakh participants from across the globe. It is being organized by Bhopal-based Rabindranath Tagore University (RNTU) in partnership with the other educational institutions under the AISECT Group of Universities. The Festival is being organized in association with a global network of organizations and NGOs working towards the promotion of Arts and Culture in Hindi and other Indian Languages across the globe.These includeParikh Worldwide Media, UK Hindi Samiti, BharatiyaVidyaBhavan (USA), ITV Gold, TV Asia, New York University, Indira Gandhi National Centre For The Arts and National Book Trust (India) among others.
Speaking about the upcoming Festival, Mr Santosh Kumar Choubey, the Director of Tagore International Literature & Arts Festival and RNTU’s Chancellor, said, “This event isn’t just about education or knowledge; it’s about harmony and diversity as well. For three days,literary personalities and artists from the 15 participating countries will join hands toenlightenone another about their country’s art, culture and literature. The VishwarangInternational Festival is an opportunity for people to widen their horizons and improve their intellectual awareness about the cultural and literary heritage of various parts of the world.”
Vishwarang Australia will include sessions likeSarod Vadan,Poetry Recital, a panel discussion on the importance of strong cultural relationships between India and Australia, BharatNatyam and Katthak dance performances, YuvaKaviSammelan, Mushaira and much more.Vishwarang Singapore session will consist of RabindraSangeet, Lion Dance, Migrant Worker Poetry, Film Show, Crafts Exhibition, etc. The key highlights ofVishwarang UK 2020 will be a session by Hindi authors in the UK, a session on Performing Arts in the UK, a poetry recital documentary and a Hindi Literature Poetry Reading session.Vishwarang UAE will include a Dance Festival, Book Launch, Art Sessions, Dance and Music Festivals and Industry Talks.
Vishwarang Canada will include a session by Indian Diaspora Writers, Poem Chaupal, Short Film Screening, a session on Short Stories, panel on non-fiction literature and a discussion on the topic ‘From Science to Knowledge’. Vishwarang Netherlands 2020 will include sessions on Folk Music, Folk Dance, Classical Music and Dance, Rabindra Music, Flute Playing, Poetry and Book Releases.
The showcase by the other participating countries will also have a series of interesting and informative sessions that will give an insight into the respective country’s art and literary heritage and their perception and understanding of Hindi literature.
