Bengaluru: The Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board (KSEAB) has commenced the 2nd PUC (Class 12) practical examinations across the state from January 27, in accordance with the official academic schedule. The practical exams will continue till February 2, covering all districts including Bengaluru.
Thousands of students from science and vocational streams are appearing for the practical assessments, which form an essential component of the final board examination process.
The examinations are being conducted smoothly at designated PU colleges and examination centres across Karnataka. Major cities such as Bengaluru, Mysuru, Mangaluru, Kalaburagi, Hubballi and Shivamogga are hosting multiple centres to accommodate candidates.
KSEAB has issued detailed guidelines to ensure uniformity in evaluation and strict adherence to examination protocols. External examiners have been appointed to maintain transparency and fairness in the assessment process.
Students were instructed to collect their practical examination hall tickets from their respective colleges prior to the commencement of exams. Entry to the examination hall is permitted only upon production of a valid hall ticket and college identity card.
Candidates have also been advised to carry necessary laboratory records and instruments as specified by their subject teachers.
Practical examinations play a crucial role in determining the final scores of students, especially in science subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Computer Science. Performance in these tests contributes significantly to the overall board results.
Teachers emphasized that students must demonstrate both theoretical understanding and practical skills during the assessment.
Following the completion of practical exams on February 2, the 2nd PUC theory examinations are scheduled to begin later in February as per the board’s timetable. The results of both practical and theory papers will be combined for the final evaluation of students.
Officials from the Department of Pre-University Education stated that adequate arrangements have been made to ensure the smooth conduct of the examinations. Flying squads and district-level monitoring teams have been deployed to prevent malpractice and ensure compliance with KSEAB norms.
Parents and students have welcomed the timely commencement of the practical exams, hoping for a smooth and stress-free examination period.
