Minister of State for Medical Education Sharan Prakash Patil told presspersons on Monday that the KEA would decide the dates for the third round of counselling for undergraduate medical seats in a couple of days.
The KEA has allotted 2,400 undergraduate medical seats under the government quota in 2014. As of now, a total of 22 seats are available for the third round of counselling.
He said a couple of colleges were expecting sanctioning of more medical seats, and seats available under the government quota would be allotted for students in the third round.
The Karnataka Professional Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admission and Fixation of Fee) Act, 2006, would be implemented from the next academic year.
The department had convened a meeting on August 7 and based on the discussions, the government would amend the Act, he said.
