In an age where children are digital natives from the moment they hold a tablet, teaching them how to stay safe online is no longer optional; it’s essential.
On November 18, 2025, SecurEyes, a leading Indian cybersecurity awareness and training company, partnered with GEAR Innovative International School in Bengaluru to deliver an engaging and eye-opening session on online safety for students from Classes 6 to 10.
The highlight of the event? Live, real-time demonstrations that brought the invisible threats of the internet into sharp focus.
When Theory Meets Reality: Live Hacking Demos That Left Everyone Speechless
Led by SecurEyes Founder & CEO Karmendra Kohli, the session went far beyond the usual “don’t share passwords” talk.
Students watched in real time as common online risks were demonstrated ethically and safely:
- How hackers use fake Wi-Fi hotspots in cafés and malls to steal data
- The terrifying ease of phishing attacks through games, quizzes, and fake free-fire diamond links
- How oversharing on social media (even innocent photos in school uniforms) can reveal location and personal details
- Real examples of cyberbullying, sextortion, and online grooming tactics used by predators
- How weak passwords and reused credentials can be cracked in seconds
One of the most powerful moments? A live demo showing how a seemingly harmless “free Roblox Robux generator” website can install malware or steal login credentials; something many students admitted they had searched for.
Turning Fear into Empowerment
Yes, the demos were designed to shock, but only so the message would stick.
Immediately after each demonstration, Karmendra and the SecurEyes team switched gears to solutions:
✓ How to spot phishing emails and fake websites
✓ The importance of two-factor authentication (and how to set it up)
✓ Safe social media habits: privacy settings, limited profiles, and thinking before posting
✓ What to do if someone asks for nudes or threatens to share private photos
✓ Who to talk to (parents, teachers, or trusted adults) if something feels wrong online
Students actively participated, asking sharp questions ranging from “Can hackers really access my phone camera?” to “How do I know if a gaming friend is actually an adult pretending to be a kid?”
A Message from the CEO
In his closing remarks, Karmendra Kohli said:
“Today’s children spend more time online than any generation before them. The internet is an amazing place to learn, play, and connect, but it also has dark corners. Our job as adults is not to scare children away from the digital world, but to arm them with the knowledge and confidence to navigate it safely. If even one student thinks twice before clicking that suspicious link because of today’s session, we’ve succeeded.”
A Proud Partnership
GEAR Innovative International School has always emphasized holistic education that prepares students for the real world. Hosting this cybersecurity awareness program reflects their forward-thinking approach to student welfare in the digital era.
We extend our deepest thanks to the school principal, management, teachers, and especially the students for their enthusiasm and active participation.
