Police arrested three senior students. They filed an FIR against 22 students and one outsider. The case follows violent ragging at Akash Group of Institutions in Devanahalli.

Seniors Harass Juniors

Seniors repeatedly harassed first-year students. They forced juniors to buy cigarettes and drinks. They also intimidated them. This went on for nearly two days.

Confrontation Turns Violent

On January 14, admissions head Midhun Madhavan (34) challenged the seniors. The accused students attacked. An outsider named Naveen joined them. They used iron rods, sticks, and stones. They assaulted staff and juniors. They damaged a vehicle. They issued death threats.

Police Act Fast

Midhun filed a complaint on January 16. Devanahalli police registered an FIR. Charges include ragging, assault, vandalism, and threats.

CCTV footage showed the attack. It helped identify the attackers.

Police arrested three students:

• Mohammed Noushad (21)
• Afsal (21)

All three are in judicial custody. Police issued notices to 19 other students. They are still searching for the outsider and remaining accused.
