The Department of Pre-University Education has announced that the admission details of students enrolling in I PU
The Department of Pre-University Education (DPUE) is introducing an online database, which will be linked to the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) and the Department of Collegiate Education, among others. Once admissions are done, students will be given unique identity numbers and passwords, similar to the process followed for the Common Entrance Test (CET) candidates. Even details of promotion of students will be updated, which will facilitate an authentic database for the future, DPUE Commissioner Sushama Godbole said here on Thursday.

Announcing the process of applying for the CET and the counselling procedure, all of which are online, Ms. Godbole, who is also the Executive Director of KEA, said once the students select ‘declaration’ during the application process, they will not be allowed to change categories. “We have tested the online model in some colleges to see its viability and incorporated the feedback. Principals and teachers have been asked to help students,” she said. The number of centres for this year has increased to 53, with the inclusion of Doddaballapur.
Ms. Godbole also said the authority is drafting Cadet and Recruitment rules for appointments to tackle the meagre number of permanent staff dealing with “crucial data”.
