Alliance University Organises ICSMET 2025, Bringing Together Over 100 Experts in Smart Materials and Emerging Technologies

BENGALURU | 04 AUGUST 2025: Alliance University, South India’s first UGC-recognized private university, recently hosted the International Conference on Smart Materials in Emerging Technologies (ICSMET 2025) in a hybrid format. Organised by the Department of Science, the three-day conference was an intellectual platform for leading academic scientists, researchers, industrialists, and scholars to exchange knowledge and insights on advanced materials and their applications in emerging technologies.

The conference saw over 100 participants, including eight keynote speakers and 80 oral presentations across Physics, Chemistry, Engineering, and Biological Sciences. Institutions from India and abroad took part, encouraging collaboration across disciplines and countries. Researchers from India, Italy, and Malaysia, contributed, building stronger global academic ties.

The event began with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony and Saraswati Vandana led by Dr. Swastika Banerjee. The Welcome Address was delivered by Prof. Vivekanand Mishra, Convener of ICSMET 2025, followed by Opening Remarks from Prof. LiJu J. K., Assistant Dean, Alliance University. Conference proceedings were officially released during the inaugural session.

Distinguished guests included Chief Guest Prof. Gopal K. Hegde from IISc Bengaluru, and Guest of Honour and keynote speaker Dr. V. Ganesan from Medi-Caps University, Indore. The inaugural session also featured remarks by Dr. Sheila Mahapatra, Associate Dean – Research, and blessings from Chief Patron Mr. Abhay G. Chebbi, Pro-Chancellor, Alliance University. The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Deepshikha Rathore, Convener of ICSMET 2025.

Across three days, the conference featured a series of keynote lectures, technical presentations, and interactive sessions. Speaking about the event, Dr. Priestly Shan, Vice-Chancellor, said“ICSMET 2025 was a testament to the vibrant academic and research ecosystem Alliance University is building. It enabled a rich exchange of ideas and fostered promising collaborations across geographies and disciplines.”

The conference concluded on a high note with a hybrid valedictory session that featured the announcement of 14 best paper awards, celebrating outstanding contributions from emerging researchers. It focused on interdisciplinary innovations in smart and advanced materials, with applications across energy systems, biomedical devices, nanotechnology, and intelligent transportation.
