Bannari Amman Institute Signs pact with 2 Institutes

Sathyamangalam-based Bannari Amman Institute of Technology (BIT) today signed MoUs with two institutions in the field of mechanical engineering and IT, as part of providing skill-based education to the students. 

Under the MOU with Harita Techserve Ltd, Chennai, a BIT-Harita Centre for research on new product development and manufacturing technology, would be set up to creat a pool of strong industry ready talent from the students undergoing engineering, S V Balasubramanian, Chairman, BIT, told reporters here today.

The Centre, at a cost of rs.75 lakh, will be estabished with the required infrastructure, workstations and the recommended software to enable the faculty and students researchers to learn and conduct research on the technologies in Automobile and Aeronautical fields, he said.

Harita would take top 10 students in the 7th semester holidays post their exams for a one month internship at Harita Techserve Bangalore offshore development and would conduct campus placement drive for recruiting trainee engineers from the students and take a minimum of 10 graduates from BIT, R Shankaranarayanan, Chief Operating Officer, Harita, from the stable of TVS group, said.

Under another MOU with Indian App League (IAL) New Delhi, a professional platform for IT students would be created, so that they can improve self-employablity and make them practically more suited for the industry environment, its director, Arun Gupta, said.

IAL would incubate some of the best solutions and convert these innovative and talented students into potential entrepreneurs, he said.
