Results of the class 10 equivalent IGCSE exams were released on the 14th of August 2018. CIS students performed exceptionally well and the highest total achieved was 89.4%. 25% of the students got an A and above whereas 60% were awarded a merit. “Our students did much better than expected as 25% achieved a distinction,” said Aditi Bhattacharya, IGCSE Coordinator, Canadian International School. “100% of the students’ average score was above 50% and this is an incredible achievement for this batch,” Aditi Bhattacharya added.
CIS, the first school in Bangalore to offer the IBDP saw its largest graduating batch of 82 students in the academic year 2017-18. The highest score achieved was 44 points out of 45 and an outstanding score of 43 was achieved by 3 students. 33% of the class scored between 35 and 39 points and 10.12% scored 40 points or more. The CIS student average at 34 points was well above the world average of 29.79 points.
“We are so proud of our students. Each year our mean is improving and our variance is reducing, which is amazing to see. It stands testament to the quality of teaching and learning at CIS,” said Shweta Sastri, Executive Director, Canadian International School.
The IGCSE and IB results highlight a strong academic standpoint for CIS in a truly international setting.
