Candidates have time until today to apply for the test
Bowing to pressure from anxious students and parents, the Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (COMEDK) has extended the date for applying for the (UGET) 2015. The test is to be held on May 10.
A release from the consortium, on Monday, said students who could not apply for the test for admissions to professional courses in COMEDK member colleges now have time until Tuesday for the Registration for Application (RFA). Further, the last date for filling the Online Application Form (OAF) has been extended up to 10 p.m. on Wednesday and the last date for receipt of filled-in application forms in physical format, along with the demand draft by speed post, is April 18 (5 p.m.). Candidates, whose applications were rejected due to deficiencies, can also apply afresh.
According to the earlier calendar of events, the process of registration came to end on April 8, while the last day to fill up the OAF was April 10. The COMEDK reconsidered the schedule of events after parents and students sought an extension in time on Saturday, some of them blaming technical glitches in the online application process.
However, the COMEDK denied any such glitches, saying that over 1.2 lakh candidates had successfully registered for the form, 10,330 of them successfully uploading their signatures and photos.
Reiterating that no application in physical format and other related documents will be accepted in person at the COMEDK office and that all other dates in the calendar of events will remain the same, the consortium has ruled out any further extensions.
