Education Department Issues Guidelines for SSLC Exams

Bengaluru, February 25, 2025 – The Department of School Education and Literacy has released a comprehensive set of guidelines to help students prepare for the upcoming SSLC (Secondary School Leaving Certificate) examinations, scheduled to start from March 21, 2025.

Key Guidelines

The guidelines aim to improve student performance, especially after the less-than-satisfactory results in the 2024 examinations. Here are the key points:

  1. Subject-Specific Guidelines: Experts have prepared a 200-page document for each subject, covering every chapter and offering important questions. The questions are classified according to marks, and answers are provided to help students understand the concepts better.
  2. Technological Tools: The department has embraced technological tools to aid learning. Students can follow scientific concepts through YouTube videos by scanning a QR code provided in the guidelines.
  3. Reduced Passing Marks: Due to poor performance in the 2024 examinations, the department has reduced the minimum passing marks from 35 to 25. Additionally, students can receive up to 20% grace marks.
  4. Residential Training Program: A week-long residential training program will be conducted for slow learners. This program aims to provide a conducive learning environment and individual attention to help students achieve passing marks.

Teachers’ Response

Teachers have appreciated the department’s efforts, stating that the guidelines are simple and easy to follow. They believe these measures will help students better understand the lessons and improve their performance in the exams.

Government’s Commitment

The education department is committed to improving the quality of education and ensuring that students are well-prepared for their exams. The guidelines and training programs are part of the department’s efforts to help more students secure passing marks this year.
