The State Government today approved a 10% hike in Private Engineering college fees.
The Minister for Higher Education, Shri G.T. Deve Gowda, said that the government had allowed only 10% hike as against the 15% hike demanded by the private engineering colleges.
Last year too, the private engineering colleges had demanded a 30% hike and later had to settle for 8%.
