Bangalore, March 28, 2022: A student of Canadian International School (CIS), Diya, who is in Grade 12, has donated more than 750 repurposed notebooks.
Over 200 students between Grade 1-7 received notebooks from her contributions.
Recipients of the notebooks were students from The Association of People with Disability (APD) and a local government school in North Bangalore.
Diya recycled paper from her old notebooks as well as from her her friends’ notebooks, and bound them into 750 repurposed notebooks.
The idea of recycling used paper came to her from her mother who she watched recycling paper for her household chores.
Diya created awareness using social media for collecting used notebooks, her neighbours and friends donated their books for the cause.
Her efforts are highly commendable as she was not only able to help needy student, but also show concern for the environment by using recycled paper.
