Global 30 Initiative by Japan

Students now have an oriental destination for higher education…Japan.

The top 30 Universities from Japan invite students from all over the world to pursue education in Japan as part of the Global 30 initiative by the Japanese Government. Some of the Universities have scholarships on tuition fees that range between 30 to 100 per cent.

Ritsumeikan Group of Institutions (One of the members of Global 30) has set up operations in South India to enable and assist students to pursue higher education in their group institution – Risumeikan Asia Pacific University (APU).

There is a growing demand for globally trained Business Managers, who understand the Japanese style of management. This year, APU has decided to support 50 deserving students from India, with generous scholarships – to pursue higher studies at the University.

The selection process is rigorous, yet simple – considering academics, sports and extra-curricular activities; to ensure that the opportunity to study in Japan is not limited to students with high grades but also to the all-rounders.

“Considering the strengthening ties of long-term political and business relationship between India and Japan; the presence of over 1800 Japanese Companies (as on November, 2012) in India and the need for managers who understand the working style of Japanese organisations, students completing Class Twelve shall look at global study options in Japan”, says Binesh Balakrishnan, Senior Education Specialist at Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University, South India Office.

Traditionally, Indian students have looked at pursuing higher education in popular study destinations such as U.S., U.K. and other English speaking countries. The land of rising sun, Japan — now, presents an opportunity to students to think beyond the language barrier, by offering courses in English.
