Greenwood High International School Student Wins Gold at BRDCA Chess Tournament

Bangalore, September 29, 2025:  Demonstrating remarkable focus and strategic skill, Adam Hazarika, a Grade 2F student from Greenwood High International School, was declared the Champion in the U7 Boys category at the 57th BRDCA Open and Age Category Chess Tournament 2025, held in Bangalore. Adam secured the 1st position with 6 wins out of 7 matches, outshining several talented young participants from across the state.

The tournament, organised by the Bangalore Rural District Chess Association (BRDCA), is a significant platform for budding chess players, and Adam’s stellar performance reflects his commitment, discipline, and growing mastery of the game. This victory adds to his promising journey in chess and marks him as one of the rising young talents in the sport.

Sharing his excitement, Adam said, “I enjoy playing chess as it challenges me to think ahead and stay focused. Winning this tournament makes me very happy, and I thank my parents, teachers, and Greenwood High for always encouraging me.”
