New Delhi, April 29, 2025 – The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) has confirmed that the results for the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) Class 10 and Indian School Certificate (ISC) Class 12 examinations for the academic year 2025 will be declared on April 30, 2025, at 11:00 AM IST. This announcement brings relief to over 3.5 lakh students eagerly awaiting their scorecards following the completion of the board exams earlier this year.
The ICSE Class 10 exams were conducted from February 18 to March 27, 2025, while the ISC Class 12 exams took place between February 13 and April 5, 2025. According to CISCE Chief Executive Joseph Emmanuel, the evaluation process has been completed, and the results are ready for release earlier than anticipated, aligning with the board’s efforts to streamline processes.
How to Check ICSE and ISC Results 2025
Students can access their results through the following platforms:
- Official Websites: Visit cisce.org or results.cisce.org. Navigate to the “Results” tab, select either “ICSE Board Exam Results 2025” or “ISC Board Exam Results 2025,” and enter your Unique ID, Index Number, and Captcha Code to view the scorecard.
- DigiLocker: Results will also be available on the DigiLocker platform, where students can download their marksheets using their registered mobile number.
- SMS: For ICSE results, students can send an SMS in the format ICSE to 09248082883.
The online results are provisional, and students are required to collect their original marksheets and passing certificates from their respective schools. The CISCE has also introduced a single “Pass Certificate Cum Statement of Marks” document for qualifiers starting this year, replacing the earlier practice of issuing separate certificates.
Key Details and Passing Criteria
- ICSE Class 10: Students must secure a minimum of 33% in each subject and overall aggregate to pass. They need to pass in English and at least four other subjects. Approximately 2,53,384 students appeared for the ICSE exams this year.
- ISC Class 12: A minimum of 40% in each subject and overall is required to pass, with mandatory passes in English and three other subjects. Over 1,00,067 students participated in the ISC exams.
- Improvement Exams: Students dissatisfied with their results can apply for improvement exams in up to two subjects. The compartment exam system has been discontinued since 2024.
- Re-evaluation: Those seeking re-evaluation can apply online within three days of the result declaration, with a fee per subject. Results of re-evaluation are expected by late June 2025.
Performance Trends and Expectations
Last year, the ICSE exams recorded an impressive pass percentage of 99.47%, with 82.48% of schools achieving a 100% pass rate. Girls outperformed boys, securing a pass rate of 99.65% compared to 99.31% for boys. The ISC results also showed strong performance, with a pass percentage of 98.19% in 2024. This year, with the introduction of more critical thinking and logical reasoning questions in the exam pattern, students and educators are optimistic about continued improvement in results.
Advice for Students
CISCE advises students to keep their admit cards handy for accessing results and to rely only on official sources for updates to avoid misinformation. The board will also release detailed statistics, including pass percentages, gender-wise performance, and toppers’ lists, alongside the results.
As the result day approaches, students are encouraged to stay calm and prepare for their next academic steps, whether choosing streams like Science, Commerce, or Arts for Class 11 or exploring vocational courses.
