Bengaluru, October 28, 2025 – JSS Academy of Technical Education (JSSATE) Bengaluru is gearing up for its annual IEEE Day on October 29. This year’s theme, “Innovate Today, Transform Tomorrow,” will bring together students, faculty, and industry leaders for a full day of workshops, talks, and hands-on challenges.
IEEE Day marks the historic 1915 transcontinental phone call by Alexander Graham Bell and Thomas Watson—both members of IEEE’s predecessor organization. While the global IEEE community celebrated on October 7 this year, JSSATE sticks to the traditional October 29 date to fit its academic schedule and boost student participation.
Over 500 people are expected to attend the event, organized by the IEEE Student Branch in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE).
“IEEE Day is more than a date—it’s a spark for big ideas in a tech-driven world,” said Dr. H.N. Suma, Principal of JSSATE Bengaluru. “We’re turning classroom knowledge into real-world solutions in AI, green energy, and IoT.”
What’s Happening: A Day Packed with Action
The event kicks off at 9 AM in the college auditorium with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony and a welcome speech by Akshay Kumar, final-year ECE student and IEEE Student Branch Chair.
