II PUC Board Exams to Begin on February 28 Across Karnataka

The Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board (KSEAB) has officially confirmed that the II PUC (Class 12) annual examinations for 2026 will commence on February 28, with the first papers scheduled in Kannada and Arabic. The announcement has brought clarity to lakhs of students preparing for one of the most crucial academic milestones in the state.

Over 7.10 Lakh Students to Appear for Exams

According to KSEAB, more than 7.10 lakh students from 5,174 Pre-University (PU) colleges across Karnataka have registered for the examinations this year.
To manage the large candidate base, the board has set up 1,217 examination centres statewide, ensuring accessibility for students from both urban and rural regions.

Strict Measures to Ensure Fair Conduct

Education authorities have emphasized that elaborate arrangements have been made to conduct the exams smoothly and transparently.
These include:

  • Deployment of additional invigilators and flying squads
  • Installation of CCTV surveillance in sensitive centres
  • Tight monitoring of question paper distribution and answer script handling

Officials stated that any form of malpractice will invite strict disciplinary and legal action.

Warning Against Fake Question Papers

The board has issued a strong advisory to students and parents about fake question papers circulating on social media platforms and messaging apps.
KSEAB officials clarified that:

  • No question papers are released in advance under any circumstances
  • Students should rely only on official notifications and study materials
  • Sharing or downloading leaked or fake papers may lead to disqualification and legal consequences

Cybercrime units and education department teams are actively tracking sources spreading misinformation.

Focus on Student Safety and Discipline

In addition to academic integrity, the board has directed exam centres to ensure:

  • Proper seating arrangements
  • Crowd control around centres
  • Emergency medical support where necessary

Transport and police departments will also coordinate with district administrations to avoid disruptions during exam days.

Officials Urge Students to Stay Calm and Prepared

KSEAB urged students to avoid rumours, stay focused on revision, and reach exam centres well ahead of time.
“Students should not fall prey to misleading content online. Hard work and disciplined preparation are the only reliable path to success,” a senior official said.

Significance of II PUC Exams

The II PUC examination plays a critical role in determining students’ eligibility for undergraduate admissions in engineering, medical, law, and degree courses across Karnataka and India. With lakhs of futures at stake, authorities aim to ensure a fair, secure, and stress-free examination process.
