May 24 2014 is the new deadline for students who wish to apply for re-evaluation of II PU exams answer scripts.
The Department of Pre-University Education (DPUE) announced this today after some parents and students staged a protest at the department office here on Saturday.
They questioned the delay in providing photocopies of the answer scripts. They said that because of the delay, they would not be able to apply for revaluation.
Over 30,000 applications
When contacted, DPUE Joint Director (Exams) N. Narasimha Nayak said they were being flooded with requests for photocopies and had already received more than 30,000 applications.
“We have 200 people working on this. If students have applied through Bangalore One, we have to get updates and then cross-check the details before issuing the photocopy. In some subjects like Mathematics, some students have written some 40 pages this year and it is taking us time to photocopy the entire thing. In the interest of the students, the deadline was extended,” he said.
