The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore has announced the opening of applications for the Master of Technology (M.Tech) in Robotics and Autonomous Systems (RAS) program. This program is designed to provide advanced education and hands-on training in the field of robotics and autonomous systems, preparing students for exciting careers in academia, industry, and research1.
The M.Tech in Robotics and Autonomous Systems is a two-year program that includes a total of 64 credits. The curriculum is divided into core courses, specialization courses, electives, and a final project2. Students will gain a strong theoretical foundation in control and optimization, artificial intelligence and machine learning, perception and planning, and modeling and simulation. The program also emphasizes extensive hands-on training on robot programming, simulation frameworks like Gazebo and ROS, and rapid prototyping1.
To be eligible for the program, candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technology, or a related field, and a valid GATE score in one of the following papers: Aerospace Engineering (AE), Electrical Engineering (EE), Electronics and Communication Engineering (EC), Mechanical Engineering (ME), Computer Science (CS), or Instrumentation Engineering (IN).
