India’s first Skills University ‘Rabindranath Tagore University’ announces admissions open for 2020 session

The Bhopal-based University goes fully digital for the admission process amidst COVID-19 lockdown

Bhopal, May 27, 2020: The Rabindranath Tagore University (RNTU), which is under the aegis of the prestigious AISECT Group of Universities, has announced admissions open for the 2020 session. Owing to the COVID-19 lockdown, the admission process for the year has gone 100% online wherein students are provided with the facilities of online admissions and online fee payment enabled through the RNTU website.

RNTU counsellors will connect with the students through various counselling apps and the University will also arrange free career counseling sessions for students who have appeared for class 12th exams. Free online classes on personality development, English communication and soft skills are also being provided. Moreover, the University has created a campus tour video, which is available on RNTU’s YouTube channel, to give an insight to prospective students into every aspect of the University.

RNTU is India’s first skills university offering 32 skill courses through RNTU-NSDC Skill Academies. The UGC recognized and NAAC accredited university is a member of AIU and ACU and offers 80 undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral courses under 12 faculties, including Engineering & Technology, Commerce, Management, Paramedical Science, Arts, Agriculture, Science, Education, Computer Science & IT, Nursing, Mass Communication & Journalism and Law. In the NIRF 2019 Ranking, RNTU is in the Rank Band 151-200 in University Category.

As a skills university, RNTU focuses extensively on garnering entrepreneurial spirit among students. It is the only private university in Madhya Pradesh to set up Atal Incubation Center by Niti Aayog so as to strengthen the startup ecosystem. The University has also established a Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Kendra to provide students hands-on experience in skills. Along with this, RNTU has contributed towards the establishment of 16 start-up ventures for entrepreneur programme with Young India. The University also has collaborations with various international universities and corporates from countries like USA, Australia, Korea, Taiwan, Ukraine and Nepal to provide an expanded network for education and skill-development.

In addition to the online admission process, the University has taken various initiatives to digitalize the curriculum so that students do not face any issues while accessing content online during the times of any adversity. RNTU has facilitated online classes and doubt sessions with students, devised online question banks, quizzes and assignments, curated a digital library with 65,000+ e-learning resources and tied up with Eduvantage PRO, India’s leading assessment and certificate organisation, to conduct term-end assessments for many courses. For graduating students, the University is offering placement support by conducting virtual placement drives along with conducting career development webinars by industry experts and online lectures on communication and personality development.

The Pan-India AISECT Joint Entrance Exam (AJEE) is required for admission to certain courses in the University and the dates for the same are yet to be announced. They are expected to be announced in the month of May.
