Students Lead Social Initiative for Education

Students from Jagdish Sheth School of Management and IFIM College organized a large-scale charity marathon titled “Kanyathon” in Electronics City to support the education of girls from government schools. The event showcased how student communities are actively contributing to social causes and educational empowerment.

Massive Participation from the Community

The marathon witnessed an overwhelming response, attracting nearly 10,000 participants, including students, corporate professionals, educators, and residents from across Bengaluru. Participants ran various race categories, including short-distance runs and longer marathon segments, all aimed at raising awareness about the importance of girls’ education.

₹65 Lakh Raised for Educational Support

Organizers announced that the event successfully raised approximately ₹65 lakh, which will be used to support educational initiatives for underprivileged girls studying in government schools. The funds will help expand access to academic resources, training programs, and learning infrastructure.

Establishment of Shiksha Kendras

The funds generated through Kanyathon have already helped establish several Shiksha Kendras dedicated to holistic learning. These centers provide English language training, digital literacy programs, and personal development workshops aimed at enhancing students’ confidence and employability in the future.

Promoting Long-Term Educational Impact

Organizers emphasized that the initiative is not just about fundraising but about building sustainable educational support systems. By focusing on skill development and modern learning tools, the Shiksha Kendras aim to equip young girls with knowledge and opportunities that can shape their academic and professional journeys.

Inspiring Youth-Led Social Change

The success of Kanyathon highlights the growing role of youth in driving social change through community-driven initiatives. Students from participating institutions expressed hope that the marathon will become an annual event, encouraging more people to support educational equity and empower the next generation of learners.
