Candidates from the undivided Dakshina Kannada region appearing for the Karnataka Post Graduate Common Entrance Test (PGCET) have been assigned examination centres in Bengaluru for the exam scheduled on 14 June 2026. The change was made because of low registrations in the coastal region, making it impractical to conduct the examination locally.

The revised allocation requires many candidates to travel long distances to Bengaluru to take the examination. Students from Mangaluru and surrounding areas will need to make advance travel arrangements, with some likely to undertake overnight journeys to reach their centres on time.

The shift to Bengaluru is expected to raise travel and accommodation costs for many students and their families. Apart from transportation expenses, candidates may also need to arrange temporary lodging, adding to the overall financial burden during the admission process.
