Karnataka Releases Provisional Timetables for SSLC and II PUC Exams 2026

Bengaluru, September 23, 2025 – The Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board (KSEAB) has announced the provisional timetables for the 2026 Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) and Second Pre-University Course (II PUC) examinations. This move helps over a million students across Karnataka plan their studies. The board has posted the schedules on its official website and invites public feedback to refine the final version.

Exam Dates and Schedule Highlights

The SSLC (Class 10) exams start on March 18, 2026, and end on April 1, 2026. Language papers like Kannada, Telugu, and Hindi kick off the schedule, followed by Mathematics, Science, and Social Science. The II PUC (Class 12) exams begin on February 28, 2026, and conclude on March 17, 2026, starting with Kannada and Arabic and closing with vocational subjects like Information Technology, Retail, and Healthcare. Exams run from 9:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., with 15 minutes for reading the question paper.

The schedule avoids subject clashes and ensures study gaps between exams.

Feedback and Objection Process

KSEAB allows feedback on the timetables from September 20 to October 9, 2025. Students, parents, and teachers can email objections to chairpersonkseab@gmail.com and send a hard copy to: Chairperson, KSEAB, 6th Cross, Malleswaram, Bengaluru–560003. The board will review only submissions received by the deadline.

Impact on Students and Proposed Policy Changes

The early release of timetables helps students create effective study plans. Experts suggest prioritizing high-weightage subjects. Schools and colleges must display the schedules on notice boards for visibility.

The Karnataka government is exploring a proposal to lower SSLC passing marks from 35% to 30% per subject, with an overall 33% average across internal and external assessments. This change, still under review, aims to ease pressure and boost pass rates.

Accessing the Timetables

Students can download the provisional timetables from kseab.karnataka.gov.in. The website offers clear navigation for SSLC and II PUC sections. For support, contact the helpline at 080-23460460 during office hours.

KSEAB will finalize the timetables by mid-October 2025 after reviewing feedback, helping students prepare for the 2026 board exams.
