BENGALURU: The Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board (KSEAB) has officially released the examination timetable for the SSLC (Class 10) and II Pre-University Course (Class 12) board examinations for the academic year 2025–26. The announcement brings clarity for lakhs of students preparing for the crucial state-level examinations.
II PU Board Exams to Begin in Late February
According to the notification, the II PU examinations will commence on February 28, 2026, and conclude on March 17, 2026. All examinations will be conducted in the morning session from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm.
The timetable covers subjects across Science, Commerce and Arts streams, including languages, core subjects and vocational electives. Adequate gaps between major papers have been provided to allow students sufficient preparation time.
SSLC Exams Scheduled from March 18
The SSLC (Class 10) examinations will be held from March 18 to April 2, 2026. Major subjects such as Mathematics, Science, Languages and Social Science have been spaced across the schedule to reduce academic pressure on students.
Board officials stated that the sequence of subjects has been structured to ensure fairness and balanced preparation time for all candidates.
Large-Scale Arrangements Across the State
More than 16 lakh students are expected to appear for the two board examinations combined. The board has identified over 1,200 centres for II PU exams and nearly 2,800 centres for SSLC exams across Karnataka to manage the large number of candidates.
District administrations have been instructed to ensure smooth conduct of examinations with proper seating arrangements, invigilator deployment and logistical support.
Security and Monitoring Measures Strengthened
To prevent malpractice and ensure transparency, the board will implement CCTV surveillance and web monitoring at key examination centres. Flying squads and local officials will conduct surprise inspections during the examination period.
Special instructions have also been issued regarding mobile phone restrictions and strict adherence to exam protocols.
Tentative Result Timeline Announced
The board has indicated tentative result dates to help students plan their next academic steps:
- II PU results: Expected in early April 2026
- SSLC results: Likely by late April 2026
These timelines will support timely college admissions and counselling processes.
Schools Intensify Preparation Drives
With the timetable now confirmed, schools across Karnataka have stepped up revision classes, mock tests and counselling sessions. Teachers are focusing on syllabus completion and exam-oriented practice to help students gain confidence ahead of the board exams.
