Bengaluru, February 18, 2026 — Schools across Karnataka actively prepare students for the upcoming SSLC (Class 10) and II PU (Class 12) board examinations. The Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board (KSEAB) and the Department of School Education and Literacy report that over 16 lakh students currently gear up for these important exams.
During a recent high-level review meeting, Education Minister Madhu Bangarappa stressed that authorities have completed all arrangements. He urged students to approach the exams with confidence and low stress. “We stand fully ready for the examinations,” the minister declared. “Students should arrive prepared, confident, and stress-free.”
Student Registration and Exam Dates
Students have registered in large numbers: approximately 16.13 lakh in total. For II PU, around 7.10 lakh candidates enrolled (6.46 lakh freshers, 50,540 repeaters, and 13,022 private candidates). SSLC registrations reached about 9.03 lakh (8.13 lakh freshers, 62,845 repeaters, and 27,189 private candidates).
The II PU exams (Exam 1) run from February 28 to March 17, 2026, every day from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. SSLC exams follow right after, from March 18 to April 2, 2026, daily from 10:00 AM to 1:15 PM.
Authorities plan to announce results early: April 7 for II PU and April 24 for SSLC. Supplementary exams (Exam 2) will take place in late April/May, with additional improvement opportunities afterward.
Stream-wise II PU Enrollment
Science attracts the highest enrollment with around 2.93 lakh registrations, followed by Commerce (2.11 lakh) and Arts (1.43 lakh). Officials observe a continuing decline in Arts registrations and intend to add more Science and Commerce sections in government colleges.
Schools Ramp Up Revision and Practice
Teachers now conduct intensive revision classes, frequent mock tests, and dedicated doubt-clearing sessions. SSLC preparatory (model) exams have already concluded in multiple phases, allowing students to evaluate their readiness. II PU practical examinations finished earlier in January-February.
Principals and teachers report strong student participation, with extra focus on core SSLC subjects—Mathematics, Science, Languages, and Social Science—and stream-specific papers for II PU.
Strict Security and Anti-Malpractice Steps
Authorities enforce tight controls to guarantee fair examinations. District commissioners supervise continuous webcasting of exam centres. On exam days, a 200-metre restricted zone surrounds each centre, and officials close nearby Xerox shops, cyber cafés, and computer centres to prevent leaks.
The department warns strongly against spreading rumours or fake question papers and promises strict punishment. Students receive advice to stay away from social media during the examination period and maintain focus.
Support Systems for Students
KSEAB operates a dedicated helpline (080-23310075/76) to address exam-related stress and queries. II PU admit cards are already available, while SSLC admit cards will reach students in the first week of March.
As the final weeks approach, teachers and officials encourage balanced study routines, regular practice, and a calm approach so every student can perform at their best in these decisive board examinations.
