The Karnataka Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) examinations are set to commence on March 18, 2026, with more than 9 lakh students appearing across Karnataka. Among them, over 1.5 lakh candidates are from Bengaluru, making it one of the largest examination exercises in the state.

Exam Schedule and Duration
The SSLC board exams will continue until April 2, 2026. Students will appear for core subjects including Mathematics, Science, Social Science, and languages over the two-week period.

Revised Passing Criteria
In a significant change this year, the passing criteria has been revised. Students are now required to secure a minimum of 33% aggregate marks to pass the examination.

To maintain transparency and prevent malpractice, strict hall ticket verification procedures will be enforced at all centers.

Free Bus Travel for Students by Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation
In a student-friendly initiative, the Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) has announced free bus travel for SSLC candidates on all exam days.
Students can avail of this service by simply showing their hall ticket while boarding BMTC buses. The initiative aims to ease transportation challenges and ensure timely arrival at exam centers, especially for those commuting long distances.
