KEA Opens Slot Booking for Verification

The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has started the document verification process for candidates appearing for KCET 2026 admissions. Students seeking admission to engineering, pharmacy, agriculture, veterinary, and other allied professional courses can now book slots for verification through the official KEA portal.

The verification process will take place from May 11 to May 22 at designated centres across Karnataka. Thousands of candidates are expected to participate in the next phase of the admission process after the completion of KCET examinations.

Verification Required for Professional Course Admissions

Document verification remains a mandatory step for students applying to undergraduate professional courses through KCET 2026. KEA officials said candidates must appear with original documents along with photocopies for successful verification.

Students are required to carry:

• KCET 2026 application form
• Admit card
• SSLC/Class 10 marks card
• Class 12/PUC marks card
• Study certificates
• Caste and income certificates, if applicable
• Aadhaar card or valid identity proof

Candidates who fail to complete verification within the scheduled dates may face difficulties during option entry and counselling rounds.

Special-Category Certificate Verification Continues in Bengaluru

KEA has also continued special-category certificate verification at its office in Bengaluru. This process applies to candidates claiming reservations under categories such as NCC, sports, defence, ex-servicemen, persons with disabilities, and other eligible quotas.

Officials have advised students to report with category-specific documents and certificates issued by competent authorities to avoid delays in approval.

Counselling Schedule Expected Soon

After the completion of document verification, KEA is expected to release the eligibility list and counselling schedule for KCET 2026 admissions. The counselling process will include option entry, seat allotment, fee payment, and college reporting.

Education experts said students should regularly monitor official announcements and verify all uploaded details carefully before the counselling rounds begin.

Increased Competition for Engineering and Allied Courses

This year, Karnataka continues to witness strong competition for engineering and technology seats, particularly in Bengaluru-based institutions. Courses related to artificial intelligence, computer science, electronics, biotechnology, and data science are expected to see high demand during counselling.

Pharmacy and agriculture-related programmes have also gained attention among students due to growing opportunities in healthcare, food technology, and agritech sectors.
