KPCL Re-Examination 2025: Key Updates for Aspiring Engineers

December 27, 2025

Engineering graduates in Karnataka eyeing stable government jobs in the power sector have an important update: The Karnataka Power Corporation Limited (KPCL) re-examination for various technical posts is underway today and tomorrow. Conducted by the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA), this re-exam covers 622 posts, including Assistant Engineer (AE), Junior Engineer (JE), Chemist, and Chemical Supervisor roles.

Exam Schedule

  • December 27, 2025: Written examination for posts such as Assistant Engineer and Chemical Supervisor (conducted in multiple shifts at centers across the state, primarily in Bengaluru).
  • December 28, 2025: Compulsory Kannada language test.

The re-examination was mandated following a Supreme Court order, as the previous exam was invalidated due to the unexpected application of negative marking, which wasn’t mentioned in the original notification.

Admit Card Download

Admit cards for the re-exam have been available since late December 2025 on the official KEA portal: cetonline.karnataka.gov.in. Candidates were advised to download and print their hall tickets well in advance, verifying details like name, photo, exam center, and reporting time.

If you haven’t downloaded yours yet (though it’s likely too late now), log in using your application number and credentials. Any discrepancies should have been reported to KEA immediately.

Why This Opportunity Matters for Engineering Graduates

KPCL roles offer:

  • Job security in a prestigious government undertaking.
  • Competitive salaries and benefits.
  • Opportunities to contribute to Karnataka’s power generation and infrastructure.

These positions are particularly attractive for BE/B.Tech graduates in disciplines like Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, and Chemical Engineering.

Last-Minute Tips for Candidates (For Tomorrow’s Test)

  • Carry your admit card, a valid photo ID, and follow all COVID/exam guidelines if applicable.
  • Reach the center early to avoid last-minute rush.
  • Stay calm—focus on accuracy, especially since marking schemes are now clearly defined.
  • For the Kannada test tomorrow: Brush up on basic comprehension and writing if needed.

We wish all candidates appearing for the KPCL re-exam the very best! Your hard work and preparation will pay off in securing a rewarding career in the energy sector.

Stay tuned for updates on results and further recruitment stages via the official KEA and KPCL websites.
