In a heartening move to support the dreams of future doctors from economically weaker sections, Metropolis Healthcare Ltd has officially launched the eighth edition of its flagship MedEngage Scholarship Programme for the academic year 2025-26.
This year, the program continues its mission of making quality medical education accessible to talented students who might otherwise be held back by financial constraints — with a special focus on India’s 112 Aspirational Districts identified by NITI Aayog.
The MedEngage Scholarship 2025-26 is open to students pursuing:
from any government or private medical college recognized by the Medical Council of India (MCI)/National Medical Commission (NMC) across the country.
Key Eligibility Highlight:
Priority is given to students belonging to underprivileged families residing in the 112 Aspirational Districts (including several districts in Karnataka such as Raichur, Yadgir, Kalaburagi, Bidar, and others). Domicile in one of these aspirational districts is mandatory for availing the priority benefits.
Even if you are not from an aspirational district, you can still apply — the scholarship remains open pan-India, but students from these 112 districts will receive preferential consideration.
Selected scholars receive substantial financial aid that covers:
In previous editions, Metropolis has supported hundreds of medical students, many of whom have gone on to become successful doctors serving in rural and underserved areas.
India still faces a severe shortage of doctors, especially in rural and aspirational districts. Financial barriers often force bright students to abandon their medical dreams midway. Through MedEngage, Metropolis Healthcare is not just providing scholarships — it is actively contributing to building a stronger healthcare workforce for the nation, particularly in regions that need it the most.
As Dr. Sushil Shah, Founder Chairman of Metropolis Healthcare, aptly puts it:
“Every deserving student should get an equal opportunity to serve society as a doctor, irrespective of their financial background. MedEngage is our humble effort toward nation-building through healthcare education.”
Applications are now open! Interested students can apply through the official MedEngage portal:

Important: Keep your domicile certificate, income certificate, admission proof, and marksheets ready. The selection process is merit-cum-means based and completely transparent.
While the exact deadline for 2025-26 is yet to be announced (usually falls between December and February), it’s advisable to start preparing your documents early to avoid last-minute hassles.
If you or someone you know is a medical student from an underprivileged background — especially from one of India’s 112 aspirational districts — the Metropolis MedEngage Scholarship 2025-26 could be the turning point in your medical journey.
Don’t let financial constraints stop you from saving lives. Apply today and take the first step toward a brighter, healthier India.
