Ph.D Programme Applications invited – Indian Institute of Science Bangalore,

The Indian Institute of Science is inviting Applications for The Research Program at the Institute, to fill the shortfall in the August Admissions.

Qualifications for eligibility,  specializations, areas of research, number of seats and other details are provided on their website http://www.iisc.ernet.in.

 

PARTICIPATING DEPARTMENTS

Astronomy and Astrophysics, Aerospace Engineering, Atmospheric & Oceanic Sciences, Computer Science & Automation, Earth Sciences, Electrical

Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Design & Technology, Inorganic & Physical Chemistry, Nanoscience and Engineering,

Neuroscience, Organic Chemistry, Physics, Product Design & Manufacturing, and Supercomputer Education & Research.

ELIGIBILITY

Minimum second-class or equivalent grade in the qualifying examination (which is relaxed to a “pass class” for SC/ST candidates) as indicated below:

Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate field of Engineering/Technology; or Master’s degree in Science in an appropriate field; or Bachelor’s degree in Science

(with Mathematics, Physics & Chemistry as subjects of study) followed by AMIE, AMIIChE, Grad.IETE etc.

Master’s degree in Engineering/Technology in an appropriate field.

 

Pass in one of the following National Entrance Tests is mandatory and must be within the cut-off marks announced : CSIR-UGC NET for JRF; or UGC-NET for JRF; or DBT JRF or ICMR- JRF; or INSPIRE Fellow; or  GATE; or JEST or NBHM.

(Note that candidates who were called for the interview held in June 2014 in any one of the above mentioned departments are eligible to apply again.)

GENERAL: Reservation for SC/ST/PH (Physically-Handicapped) and Kashmiri-Migrant candidates: As per Government of India regulations.
