Photography Exhibition by NGO Bal Utsav Showcases the Transformative Impact on Students

Bengaluru, India: Bal Utsav, the leading non-profit transforming public education in India, has reached a major milestone – impacting over 1 million students across the country through its work in revitalizing government schools with improved infrastructure, teacher training, scholarships, and WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) facilities. With the non-profit headquartered out of Bengaluru, over 8.65 lakh children who have benefitted from their initiatives are from Karnataka.

To commemorate this achievement, Bal Utsav is hosting #TheUnstoppable, a photography exhibition that captures the resilience, aspirations, and transformative journeys of the students whose lives have been changed by education. The exhibition will be open to the public with free admission from February 21-23, 2025, at Vismaya, Rangoli Metro Art Center, MG Road, Bengaluru. Visitors will get a powerful visual insight into how education is breaking barriers and shaping the future of countless children.

For over a decade, Bal Utsav has been working with 300+ government schools across six states, pioneering holistic and sustainable interventions through its flagship programs, Sampoorna Shaala and iShaala. By enhancing school infrastructure, training educators, providing scholarships, and improving water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) facilities, Bal Utsav has demonstrated that government schools can be centers of excellence, where students, parents, and communities take pride in education. The impact is clear: increased school enrollment, reduced dropout rates, and even reverse migration from private schools to well-supported government institutions.

At #TheUnstoppable, each photograph will tell a story of determination, hope, and the profound impact of education. The exhibition will highlight four key moments in a child’s educational journey:

  1. The First Steps of Change – A child’s first encounter with a classroom, marking the beginning of a lifelong journey of learning.
  2. The Power of Learning – Moments of discovery as children embrace knowledge, guided by passionate teachers and innovative tools.
  3. Dreams Taking Flight – Children who once saw education as out of reach now daring to dream big.
  4. The Role of Community – The teachers, parents, and supporters who make transformation possible.

Ramesh Balasundaram, Co-founder of Bal Utsav, said, “Reaching over 1 million students is a testament to what is possible when communities, government, and corporate partners come together with a shared vision. We are deeply grateful to our CSR partners, including DXC Technology, Sasken Technologies, and 3M among others, as well as our individual donors and supporters who have played an integral role in this journey. This exhibition is a tribute to the power of education and the unstoppable spirit of the children we serve.”
