Special SLBC & Credit Outreach Programme

Special SLBC & Credit Outreach Programme for the state of Tamil Nadu was conducted by the Indian Overseas Bank, Convenor  on 18th April 2023 under the Chairmanship of Dr Bhagwat Kishanrao Karad, Hon’ble Minister of state in the Ministry of Finance, Government of India at Anna Centenary Library, Chennai.   The other dignitaries present in the meeting were Ms S Srimathy – Chairman of SLBC – Tamil Nadu and Executive Director, Indian Overseas Bank, Thiru Shantilal Jain – Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer, Indian Bank, Thiru. V Arun Roy, IAS, Secretary (Expenditure), Finance   Department Tamil Nadu, Thiru S M N Swamy – Regional Director, Reserve Bank of India, Ms.Divyadharshini, IAS, Managing Director, Tamil Nadu Corporation for development of Women Limited, Thiru R Radhakrishna, Chief General Manager, State Bank of India, Thiru Ajit Krishnan Nair, Chief General Manager, Canara Bank, Senior executives/officials from RBI, NABARD, State Government and of all the banks in Tamil Nadu.

The following Agenda was discussed and deliberated during the meeting which was presented by the Convenor, Mr Reyazul Haque, General Manager Indian Overseas Bank :

1) Financial Inclusion in the State of Tamil Nadu

2) Present status of Implementation of various Flagship financial inclusion schemes

3) Status of credit in the state

4) Penetration of Banking, Insurance coverage in the state

Dr Bhagwat Kishanrao Karad Virtually Inaugurated 5  ATMs of Indian Overseas Bank and 2 Digital Banking Units & 1 Digital Service Unit of Bank of Baroda. SHG Members had placed various stalls in the venue and displayed their handmade products. The Hon’ble MoS also Interacted with various SHG Members and Beneficiaries of Flagship Government Schemes.

During the Credit Outreach Programme, banks sanctioned loan to 227,407 beneficiaries to the tune of Rs.3570 crores consisting of PMSVANidhi Rs. 3.42 crores, Mudra Rs. 39.14 crores, Self-help groups Rs. 36.38 crores, Stand up India Rs.4.80 crores, PMFME Rs. 5.02 crores, PMEGP Rs. 16.48 Crores,  MSME Rs. 477.63 crores, Agri and other Rs. 2987.82 crores.  Dr Bhagwat Kishanrao Karad distributed sanction letter to various beneficiaries in presence of dignitaries.
