The Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) examinations will begin on March 30, 2015.
This is the first batch of students that will take the examination in the new Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) pattern and the year-end examination will have 80 per cent weight-age on the total assessment, and 20 percent on internal assessment.
The exams will be conducted from March 30 to April 13. While the first language will be conducted for 100 marks, the remaining papers will be conducted for 80 marks. The duration of each exam has been reduced as the total marks of each paper have been reduced.
According to a press release by the Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board , the first language paper will be followed by the Science paper on April 1. The examination will end with the Social Science exam on April 13. A press release issued by H. Manjunath, Secretary of the board, stated that students will be given 15 minutes to read the question paper before the examination begins.
While fresh candidates will have to take the exam under the new pattern, repeaters and private candidates will take the exam in the old pattern.
