Mangaluru and Udupi are set to host the much-anticipated State Games Karnataka 2025 from January 17 to 23. This week-long event will feature 25 sports disciplines, attracting over 3,247 athletes from across the state2. The games are organized by the Youth Empowerment and Sports Department in collaboration with the Karnataka Olympic Association (KOA).

Event Highlights

• Inauguration: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will inaugurate the games at Mangala Stadium in Mangaluru on January 17 at 5 PM.
• Valedictory Ceremony: Home Minister G. Parameshwara will be the guest of honor at the valedictory ceremony in Udupi on January 23 at 4:30 PM.
• Sports Disciplines: The games will include a wide range of sports such as badminton, basketball, fencing, football, handball, kho-kho, netball, swimming, taekwondo, volleyball, weightlifting, and wushu in Mangaluru. Udupi will host archery, athletics, boxing, cycling, judo, kabaddi, wrestling, kayaking, and canoeing2. Lawn tennis and table tennis matches will be held in Manipal, while Bengaluru will host gymnastics and shooting.
• Medals: A total of 631 gold, 631 silver, and 827 bronze medals will be awarded in both men’s and women’s categories.

The district administrations of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi have made extensive preparations to ensure that athletes receive the best hospitality. This includes top-tier arrangements for food, accommodation, and transportation2.
