Mangaluru and Udupi are set to host the much-anticipated State Games Karnataka 2025 from January 17 to 23. This week-long event will feature 25 sports disciplines, attracting over 3,247 athletes from across the state2. The games are organized by the Youth Empowerment and Sports Department in collaboration with the Karnataka Olympic Association (KOA).
The district administrations of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi have made extensive preparations to ensure that athletes receive the best hospitality. This includes top-tier arrangements for food, accommodation, and transportation2. The event aims to showcase the vibrant cultural heritage of Tulunadu and provide a platform for athletes to excel and potentially participate in national and international events.
Assembly Speaker UT Khader emphasized the importance of community support for the success of the event. He appealed to the people of the coastal districts to extend their cooperation and make the State Games 2025 a grand success2.
The state government has sanctioned Rs 5 crore for the event, highlighting its commitment to nurturing regional sports talent and providing opportunities for athletes to shine on bigger platforms.
