UK-based Staffordshire University invites applications for its BSc (Hons) Pharmaceutical Science programme

USPs of the course: The Department of Biological Sciences within the School of Life Sciences and Education at UK-based Staffordshire University is inviting applicants for its BSc (Hons) Pharmaceutical Science programme. The programme will appeal to those who want to understand how the human body functions at a molecular level and the science that can be used to manage human health. Students will explore the biochemical and cellular make-up of the human body, investigate what happens when things go wrong through disease or illness, and how these may be prevented or cured by the action of drugs. Alongside this, students will build a clear understanding of drugs and medicines, their structures, discovery and development, their biological delivery and activity, and their testing, regulation, production and quality assurance by analytical methods.

Each year of the programme begins with all students and tutors engaged in investigating core biological, chemical and pharmaceutical ideas, practitioner skills workshops, student-centred lectures and feedback/feed forward action planning sessions. Each year ends with a variety of student exposition events such as a student conference. At all levels there is an embedded tutorial system with both small group and one-to-one guidance sessions.

The final year includes GradEx, which is the University’s very own exposition of student work. It gives them the opportunity to demonstrate the outcomes of their final year project to a large range of potential employers. They will eventually develop an awareness of the significant role that pharmaceuticals play in our society and a variety of industry, legal frameworks that govern their usage.
