UK-based University of Yorks Management School invites applications for its unique MSc Global Marketing programme

UK-based University of York’s innovative MSc in Global Marketing programme has been developed with a specific global orientation. It aims to create employable graduates with the academic knowledge and skills required to work with competence in the field of global marketing, business and organizational practice.

The programme is offered by the York Management School, which holds a consistent top ten position in reputation and teaching based league tables in spite of being relatively young, having been established in 2006. The programme reflects a multidisciplinary approach wherein learners imbibe a range of qualitative and quantitative research methods. They are also trained in critical and creative thinking, comparative analysis and evaluative skills which prepare them for work in a range of organizational and business contexts. The ethical commitment of the Management School ensures that learning comes along with the spirit of social responsibility, sustainability and ethical practice, with the vision to make the world a better, more inclusive, environmentally and socially responsible place along with the commitment to promote human security at all levels. In this context, the York Management School hosts one of the few Marketing Chairs in the UK that specializes in Ethical Marketing.

The MSc Global Marketing programme offers cohort-specific global orientation within Marketing. It builds entrepreneurial skills amongst its students via team-based business development learning activities and association with local business networks. Their graduates, who have launched successful small businesses, are a testimony to that. They reflect an international profile with exchange programmes with leading European institutions, links with international business organizations, excellent placement options with leading national and international employers and access to professional advice from business leaders.

The programme provides research led, quality teaching by leading research academics and industry experts having a global outlook, since they come from diverse regions such as the UK, the EU and Latin America. The staff are members of the Centre for Evolution of Global Business and Institutions (CEGBI), a world-leading centre on research in global branding based at the York Management School. The course provides for practitioner-informed, accredited curriculum focusing on the essential modules of exciting marketing areas including Global Marketing, Social and Ethical Marketing, Digital Marketing and Brand Management. This is followed by a research based dissertation to develop students’ abilities to initiate, design, and implement a substantial research project.

 Career Prospects for Course Graduates: The programme graduates can pursue marketing careers in the global private, public and not for profit sectors. They are well-equipped to seek careers in traditional commercial or business contexts, to start their own ventures or to pursue doctoral research or academic careers.

 Eligibility Criteria: Applicants require a first or upper second class bachelor’s degree from a reputed University. Applicants with prior study of marketing and/or business management will get a preference. The English language requirements include an overall 6.5 IELTS score with at least 6.5 in reading and 6.0 in other components. However, for Indian students who are still studying their Bachelor at the time of application (or have graduated within the past 2 years), if their language of instruction throughout their Bachelor degree was English, then they may be exempted from taking an English language test.
