Our grave deeds have led to an urgent call for action that is promptly being recognized by leaderships and foundations governing this world. Thus, the need for experts well-versed in the ideals and concepts of sustainability is continuously growing and is fast spreading in the developed and developing parts of the world.
The MSc in Sustainability is an interdisciplinary program, taught across three faculties at the University – Faculty of Social, Human and Mathematical Sciences, Faculty of Engineering and Environment, and Faculty of Business, Law and Art. It addresses key issues such as enabling population health and wellbeing in an over-stressed planet, delivering food and energy to an urbanizing world, land use and land cover change, understanding the inter-dependencies between people & the planet and understanding the impact of climate change and weather extremes on people & places. The course is designed with flexibility to allow for a programme of study that is tailor-made to suit requirements and aspirations of individual students. It provides apt guidance on a wide variety of modules, which allows learners to specialize in pathways centered round consultancy, population and remote sensing & GIS. A constant focus on applied research and field-based methods provides sufficient exposure to students before they go out and face the real world sustainability challenges.

Eligibility Criterion: International students must hold a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent approved by NARIC [National Recognition Information Centre] of UK and IELTS or equivalent score [6.5 average, minimum of 6 in each individual component].

Course fee: £18,630
Scholarships: Students applying for this programme are eligible for Southampton Merit Scholarships worth up to £3,000, the Chevening Scholarship and the Commonwealth Scholarships. These scholarships will be in the form of a tuition fee reduction.

Application deadline: Although applications deadline is 30th June 2018, with maximum 45 seats available for the programme, early applications by 15thMay 2018 are advisable.
