San Diego, CA – July 18, 2025 – The University of San Diego (USD) has announced the launch of a suite of fully online, 20-month master’s degree programs specifically designed for working professionals in India. These programs, offered through USD’s Shiley-Marcos School of Engineering and Division of Professional & Continuing Education, focus on high-demand technology fields, including MS in Applied Artificial Intelligence, MS in Applied Data Science, MS in Cyber Security Engineering, and MS in Cyber Security Operations and Leadership.
For the first time, these programs, previously available only to students in the United States, are now accessible to Indian professionals. Delivered in a flexible, asynchronous format, the courses allow students to complete their degrees at their own pace without attending live classes, making them ideal for those balancing professional and personal commitments. The curriculum mirrors USD’s on-campus offerings, ensuring that graduates earn the same U.S.-accredited degree.
The 20-month programs are structured with weekly milestones, enabling students to progress independently while maintaining academic rigor. Each course lasts seven weeks, with students expected to dedicate 15-18 hours weekly to coursework. The curriculum, developed by academic experts with industry experience, is reviewed annually to align with current technological advancements and real-world challenges. Masterclasses led by global industry leaders in AI, data science, and cybersecurity provide additional networking opportunities and regionally relevant insights for Indian students.
The total cost of the program is approximately ₹10.49 lakh, with scholarships available to eligible candidates to enhance affordability. GradRight, USD’s official outreach and student access partner in India, will guide prospective students through the admissions process and provide ongoing support throughout the program.
Admissions for the Fall 2025 intake are open until August 1, 2025, with classes commencing on September 2, 2025. Eligible applicants must hold either a four-year undergraduate degree with at least a Second Division or a three-year degree with a First Division. English proficiency is required, demonstrated through an IELTS score of 7, a Duolingo score of 120, or proof of two years of study in English.
These programs aim to empower Indian professionals to thrive in India’s burgeoning tech ecosystem without relocating or pausing their careers. “At GradRight, we believe that global education should be accessible to all, without financial or geographical barriers,” said Aman Singh, Co-Founder of GradRight. “Our collaboration with USD brings high-caliber, industry-relevant online master’s programs directly to working professionals in India—helping them upskill, grow, and contribute to India’s growing tech ecosystem.”
USD’s initiative aligns with India’s growing demand for skilled professionals in AI, data science, and cybersecurity, offering a pathway to globally recognized credentials from a top-ranked U.S. institution. The programs emphasize practical knowledge, critical thinking, and leadership skills, preparing graduates for roles such as data scientists, cybersecurity analysts, and AI specialists.
Founded in 1949, the University of San Diego is a prestigious institution known for its rigorous academic programs and commitment to student success. With a diverse community of over 9,000 students from 85 countries, USD is recognized by U.S. News & World Report as one of the top universities in the U.S. and by Princeton Review as a “Best Value School” with one of the most beautiful campuses.
