Digital Reform to Simplify Student Services
The Karnataka government has decided to shift the issuance of key educational certificates to an online system through the Sakala and Seva Sindhu portal. The reform will help Common Entrance Test (CET) aspirants avoid paperwork, long queues, and repeated visits to government offices.
Single Online Application for Multiple Certificates
Students can now apply online for important documents such as study certificates, marksheets verification, rural study certificates, and Kannada-medium certificates using one digital form.
Earlier, students had to approach schools, block education offices, and district authorities separately for each certificate, which caused delays and confusion.
Fixed Timelines Under Sakala Scheme
By placing certificate services under the Sakala framework, the government will ensure delivery within a fixed time period. Students can track their application status online, making the process faster and more transparent.
Digital Verification of Academic Records
The portal will connect directly with student academic databases and school records. Officials will verify details electronically instead of relying on manual paperwork. This step will improve accuracy, reduce errors, and prevent duplication of documents.
Fewer Office Visits for Students
With the new system, students no longer need to travel to multiple offices. They can complete applications, upload documents, and receive certificates online. This change will especially benefit students from rural areas who often spend time and money traveling for certificate approvals.
Smoother CET Counselling and Admissions
Digital certificates will support CET counselling and college admissions by making documents instantly available for verification. Students can use the same records for reservation claims and future academic requirements.
Stronger Transparency and Governance
Education department officials said the reform supports Karnataka’s e-governance goals by cutting delays and limiting human intervention. Digital tracking will also reduce the risk of lost or manipulated records.
Statewide Rollout Soon
The government plans to roll out the online certificate service across Karnataka in the coming weeks. Schools and colleges will guide students on how to apply through the Seva Sindhu portal.
