New Delhi, September 23, 2026: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will begin the online submission of the List of Candidates (LOC) for the 2027 Class 10 and Class 12 Board examinations from September 24, 2026.
The LOC submission is an important pre-examination process through which CBSE-affiliated schools submit details of eligible students who will appear in the Board examinations. The Board has issued its official notification for the 2026–27 session and asked schools to complete the process within the prescribed schedule.
CBSE LOC Submission 2026-27: Important Dates
For the Class 10 First Board Examination and Class 12 Main Examination 2027, schools can submit the LOC without a late fee from September 24 to October 21, 2026.
Schools that miss the regular deadline will have an additional window with a late fee from October 22 to October 30, 2026, according to details of the 2026–27 LOC schedule.

What Is the CBSE LOC?
The List of Candidates (LOC) is the official list of students submitted by affiliated schools to CBSE for the Board examinations.
Schools are required to provide and verify important student information, including demographic details and the subjects in which candidates are registered. The information submitted through the LOC forms the basis for the Board’s examination-related processes.
CBSE has advised schools to exercise particular care while entering student information and subject combinations.
LOC Submission Mandatory for Schools
The LOC submission is carried out by schools through the CBSE’s online system. Students appearing for the regular Board examinations are registered through their respective affiliated schools.
Schools should ensure that only eligible candidates are included and that the information submitted matches the school’s records. Errors in names, dates of birth, photographs, subjects and other candidate details can create problems during subsequent examination processes.
CBSE’s official examination circular page lists the September 21, 2026 notification for submission of LOC for the Class X and Class XII main examinations for 2026–27.
CBSE LOC Examination Fee
For students in India, the normal examination fee listed for the 2026–27 LOC process is ₹1,600 for five subjects, while an additional subject attracts a fee of ₹320 per subject.
For Class 12 students, a practical examination fee of ₹160 per practical subject is applicable in India. A late fee of ₹2,000 per candidate, in addition to the applicable normal fee, is payable during the late-submission window.
The fee is to be paid through the prescribed online process.
Schools Asked to Verify Student Details Carefully
Schools should verify all candidate information before finalising the LOC. Details such as the student’s name, date of birth, photograph, subjects and other demographic information should be checked carefully against school records.
CBSE has also issued a separate notification on September 23, 2026, concerning the streamlining of corrections in demographic details, making accurate data submission particularly important during the registration process.
What Students and Parents Should Know
Although the LOC is submitted by schools, students and parents should also verify that the information maintained by the school is correct.
Students should particularly check:
- Full name and spelling
- Date of birth
- Photograph
- Subjects selected for the Board examination
- Category and other applicable details
- Eligibility and attendance requirements
- Any additional subject registered for the examination
Students should contact their school administration promptly if they notice an error before the LOC is finalised.
